The 2014 Autumn Equinox: A Stasis
At the equinoxes and solstices, the Sun enters the cardinal signs of the tropical zodiac (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn). The chart for the event of the “Cardinal Ingress” – the moment at which the Sun enters the zero point of these signs – is often used to forecast the events of the following season.
Ever since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, to be followed by Uranus and Jupiter in Aries, Saturn in Libra and the faster moving planets in various cardinal dramas, the equinox and solstice charts have been one intense powerhouse after another.
Finally, with Uranus and Pluto both moving past the 10 degree point that removes them from aspecting the cardinal points at zero degrees, we have an equinox chart where the Sun makes absolutely no aspect to any other planet (other than a harmonious sextile to Mars that is rather wide and not very strong). This suggests that the next few months, until the Winter Solstice in December, will provide us with a period of stasis – an opportunity to enjoy a period of rest in which the world adjusts to the changes wrought during the past several years.
With the Sun entering the sign of Libra, balance and equilibrium is the goal in any case. Summer is over and winter has not yet begun – we find ourselves in the middle of opposing forces, learning to find a way to integrate polarities and find peace within.
This is not to say that everything will be calm and serene in our personal lives if we have major planetary transits affecting our own chart. And Pluto is just reversing its retrograde trend and moving forward again, pushing us to create transformation in every layer of our being. With Pluto on the advance once again, the noose between Uranus and Pluto will continue to tighten as we move towards phase SIX of the Uranus/Pluto square. (If this is new to you please catch up in the sidebar of my home page.)
But for now, at this moment we can stop everything and pay attention, finding the harmony of peacefulness that lies at the center of the human experience.
